Developed with input from Steve Gadd, this metal snare drum focuses on consistency, articulate response, and practical control across recording and live drum setups. Its 1.2 mm brass shell provides the foundation for the drum, while the 25 strand snare wire supports detailed snare response.Open, Articulate Brass CharacterYamaha positions the center bead on the outside of the shell rather than the inside. This outward center bead supports a more open sound than Yamaha conventional metal snare designs, with crisp articulation that helps individual strokes remain distinct. The 45 degree bearing edge creates a precise contact point for the drumhead and complements the responsive brass shell construction.Stable Hardware and Familiar ControlNewly designed one piece lugs and a 2.3 mm Dyna Hoop create a clean hardware layout around the shell. The Q Type release strainer offers stable, smooth operation for adjustment and snare replacement, while the DC3 Type butt side strainer completes the mechanism. A Remo Coated Ambassador batter head and Remo Snare Ambassador bottom head provide the playing and snare side surfaces.
