There's double trouble under the waves when the Doctor (Peter Davison) and his companions must protect 21st-century Earth from a war started by the dual threat of the Sea Devils and the Silurians, in "Warriors of the Deep." Next, it's 1984, but a mysterious entity called the Malus has the citizens of a small English village thinking it's 1643, in "The Awakening." Can the Doctor set things right before Tegan (Janet Fielding) is burned alive as part of a bizarre 17th-century ritual? In the distant future on the planet "Frontios," the Doctor must violate the Time Lords' most sacred rule when he helps the members of the last surviving human colony defend themselves against the Tractators, a race of giant subterranean insects that can control gravity. Caught in an interchronal trap, the TARDIS is brought down to 20th-century Earth, where the diabolical Davros forces the Doctor to help him revive the Dalek race, in "Resurrection of the Daleks." "Planet of Fire" finds the Doctor and Turlough (Mark Strickson) joined by American student Perpugillian "Peri" Brown (Nicola Bryant) as they're lured to the distant world Sarn, where they must deal with a trap laid for them by the Master (Anthony Ainley). The Doctor and Peri wind up in the middle of an interplanetary war for control of a mysterious and addictive substance, and soon find themselves in a battle that only one of them will escape, in "The Caves of Androzani."
