The DSP engine within the DD-500 runs at 32-bit/96 kHz for very high resolution output that won't degrade the sound of your guitar tone. Plus, for those times when you don't want this pedal in your signal chain, you have a choice of either buffered or true bypass modes. When using the buffered bypass, the carryover ensures that any delay trails are not cut off unnaturally when the effect is switched off.The large LCD screen on the DD-500 allows for visual confirmation of many of the pedals' parameters including delay time and patch ID information, along with easy navigation of parameter tweaks, patch naming, and system management. There's also a USB port onboard that you can use to connect to a computer for backing up your patches and for MIDI control with your favorite DAW program.By default, the three footswitches on the DD-500 are programmed for settings such as patch on/off, bypass, bank selection, and tap tempo; however, they can be customized to function in different ways as well. You can program them in ways such as to provide top-level access to three different delay patches, or to use two patches at once for layered sounds. Instead of tap tempo, you can assign the TAP/CTL switch to various real-time functions like Warp or Twist for a wide range of expressive effects.
