The AcuRite Color Digital Remote Thermometer/Hygrometer uses patented Self-Calibrating Technology to provide your personal forecast of 12-to-24-hour weather conditions. You can plan your day with confidence using your own weather prediction information with pinpoint accuracy right from your own backyard. Self-Calibrating Forecasting is generated from weather data measured by a sensor in your yard - giving you the most accurate forecast available for your exact location. Forecasting Accuracy Using the latest methodology in weather prediction modeling and the related effects of current observations on forecasting, Acu-Rite developed a self-calibrating technology that provides a reliable, accurate forecast of weather conditions for exact locations. A unique algorithm analyzes changes in pressure and temperature over a timer period during the learning mode to determine altitude. Taking 4,000 readings at 12-minute increments, this algorithm calculates a running average and computes the barometric pressure for the exact location. After 14 days, the self-calibrated pressure is accurate and the forecaster is ready for superior weather prediction. The algorithm continues to run so that predictions become even more accurate. Colorful LCD Display The vibrantly colorful, backlit LCD screen displays icons for a wide variety of weather information.
